Leeds United Football Club, commonly known as Leeds United or Leeds, is an English professional football club based in the city of Leeds. The club was founded in 1919, following the dissolution of Leeds City, and has since played at Elland Road Stadium in the Beeston district. The club's nickname, The Peacocks, probably comes from the former name of the street where the stadium stands, The Old Peacock Ground.
