A complex and mysterious adventure on several levels, "Watchmen - The Guardians" - takes place in an alternative America of 1985 where superheroes are part of everyday life and where the Doomsday Clock - a symbol of the tension between the United States and the Soviet Union- permanently indicates five minutes to midnight. When one of his former colleagues is murdered, Rorschach, a somewhat flat but no less determined masked vigilante, will uncover a plot that threatens to kill and discredit all superheroes of the past and present. As he reconnects with his old legion of vigilantes - a ragtag group of retired superheroes, only one of them possessing real powers - Rorschach glimpses a disturbing and far-reaching conspiracy linked to their shared past and which will have catastrophic consequences for the future. Their mission is to protect humanity... But who watches over these guardians?
